1998 – Founded in October 1998, Mira Telecom's objective was to offer the best services and products in the telecommunications’ domain.

The first activity was the distribution, installation and meintenance of VHF, UHF & HF radiocommunications’ equipment. The constant care for the clients and market demands lead to the development of the portfolio and thus, the services and products of the company have diversified over the years.

2000 – Starting with 2000, Mira Telecom approached the telecommunication field, creating infrastructure for the largest mobile operators through installation, commisioning and meintenance services.

2001 – The year 2001 marked the company’s involvment in the sensible field of security and counter-terrorism protection. Mira Telecom offered solutions for perimeter and indoors security, public warning systems, detectors for explosives, drugs, radioactive substances, toxic gas and biological agents and a wide variety of telecommunication equipment dedicated to military activity.

2002 – Since 2002, Mira Telecom expands its telecommunication services and becomes a logistics’, materials’ and accessories’ supplier, such as: radiofrequency cables, connectors, antennas, grounding kits, etc.

2004 – 2004 is a landmark for the company due to the development of the logistics portfolio and the establishment of the research department, an important asset to approach the market opportunities for professional security equipment and systems and counter-terrorism protection. The first project was a public warning system used to alert the population in case of natural disasters.

2006 – In 2006 Mira Telecom broadens its horizon and offers performant management for turnkey projects in the field of security and telecommunications. Mira Telecom is among the few companies which provide integrated services in both the communication infrastructure and technology security market.

2008 – 2008 marks a new moment of activity diversification within the company. Mira Telecom opens a consultancy office in Austria. "We tried to diversify our activity and, due to the experience we have accumulated in the Romanian line of business we want to convince the Austrian and perhaps the South German companies to invest in Romania because this business area is becoming more and more competitive. This is the reason for which we opened an office in Austria, which does not mean a relocation of Mira Telecom’'s activity", says Stelian Ilie, Mira Telecom’'s President, at the Mobile Communications debates in November 2008.

2009 – 2009 represents another important step: the company further evolves by transiting from an entrepreneurial management to a professional level, through means of business optimization with the help of the audit and consultancy company KPMG. During March-December 2009, the business consultancy from KPMG consisted of the implementation of 4 projects. The first one was an analysis and optimization of costs. The next ones had as objective developing a system for reporting, analyzing and improving operational processes and creating an efficient budgeting process.

2010 – 2010 was a turning point due to the successfully completed important projects: SCOMAR (operative surveillance system for detecting, tracking, recognizing and identifying ships which perform illegal traffic activities at the Black Sea), System for monitoring Danube traffic, supplying security equipment for airports.

2011 – The company is diversifying its field of activity and accessing a new market: the intervention in emergency situations. In the first half of 2011, Mira Telecom supplied three C.B.R.N. mobile lab and two Mobile Command and Control Centers for many County Inspectorates for Emergency Situations.

Also, the installation of a system for detecting meteorological conditions is to be implemented on one of the most important Romanian airports.

Along with renowned European partners, Mira Telecom is also involved in SafeCity project, funded by the European Union Trough the FP7 Programme (Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development).

Research represents the company’s priority for the next two years. Recently the company has started the project of building its own research center, with an investment of almost two million Euros, program financed from European funds and co-financed by Mira Telecom.
